President of MedNet Information Systems, an information processing and data transmission company servicing the medical, health care and managed care industries.

Chief Executive Officer Columbia Provider Services, a subsidiary of Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp. a $2.2 Billion dollar division of Columbia /HCA Healthcare Corp. As a hands on Consultant, served as CEO for 14 months during the stabilization and re-organization of the company. Oversaw the 12 geographic IPA throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, the Managed Care Organization (TPA and UR agency), and the 501a professional corporation.

Vice President of Sales and Marketing of California Advantage, a for profit managed care organization owned 51% by the California Medical Association with the remaining stock owned by independent physicians and hospitals. From a nationwide search, was selected as the 3rd executive hired.

  • Participated in all aspects of the start-up company including the development of the business plan, strategic planning, sales projections and budgeting.
  • Participated in the development of a fronting carrier and 2 reinsurance carrier relationships in-order to sell on a retail basis.
  • Developed and implemented the statewide sales and marketing plan and within 2.5 months obtained approval by the Health Insurance Plan of California (HIPC) to participate in 55 of 58 California counties and become the only plan to offer EPO, PPO, and POS commercial products.
  • Designed, developed and implemented the statewide broker network and all internal sales and marketing support departments including customer service, quoting, licensing, product development, client implementation and enrollment.
  • Developed corporate image and all collateral materials.
  • Researched competition rates and programs and interfaced with actuaries in rate development.

As a consultant to Premier Health Management, an IPA management company and subsidiary of Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, solicited and negotiated with third party payors in Florida and Texas. Within 30 days secured Premier's first and subsequently largest payor contract and within 90 days negotiated and implemented 5 additional payor contracts including Tricare with Foundation Health in Texas. Participated in the development of four medical IPAs in Florida and Texas securing contracts with physicians, hospitals ancillary services, and alternative care providers.

Executive Vice President of RX-Card, a national prescription drug network doing business in the 48 contiguous states. Responsible for all contracting of independent and chain pharmacies. Developed and implemented marketing and sales programs to retail clients and payors (HMOs, insurance carriers, and self-funded groups) taking the company from a concept to a profitable entity in the first year of operation.

Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Opticare, a California wide optical network Developed the provider network totaling 1500 facilities. Responsible for all third party payor sales and marketing throughout California.

Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Meditech, a California third party administrator, developed and implemented the broker networks and sales programs for several HMOs, insurance carriers, and medical networks. Developed, implemented and managed statewide sales and marketing.
