Kim Anderson - Health Care Consultant

1998 - present Member of investigative audit team through Allied Management Group.

Participated in audits on behalf of large Payors (Insurance Carriers, HMO's and capitated IPA's). Audits were primarily targeted at third party administrators under contract with Payors to process and administer specified books of business. During one audit, approximately $1,500,000.00 was identified in claims paid in error, claims paid incorrectly, or premium funds not reported to carrier. Most of the patient claim records and accounting records had to be reconstructed.

1978 - 2000 Director of Operations for MIS Insurance Administrators, a third party administration company.

  • Developed and managed the operational processes of the company, forms, personnel management, information systems and reporting.
  • Integral in the development of Payor benefit programs including California statewide medical benefit programs for George Washington Life, National American Life Assurance Company, First Continental Life and Accident Insurance Company and multiple self-funded programs.
  • Coordinated and developed procedural guidelines between company and IPA's in the management of their capitated programs.
  • Investigated and communicated with legal departments of contracted payors and regulatory agency regarding requirements, requests and inquiries.
  • Assisted in the development of a claims processing software system for use by HMOs, TPAs, insurance carriers, and self-funded groups servicing multiple plan types while incorporating EPO, PPO, IPA and POS product types.

1990 - 2000 Liaison between MIS and Allied Medical Groups, one the first IPAs in California.

  • Participated in all aspects of the business.
  • Participated in the contracting of over 8,000 providers to service of self-funded groups, HMOs, and insurance carriers under capitated and fee-for-service contracts.
  • Assisted in overseeing the provider relations and credentialing departments.

1985 - 2000 Liaison between Meditech Insurance Administrators and RX-Card, a national pharmacy network.

  • Participated in the development of new benefit programs.
  • Made determinations and recommendations as to the financial viability regarding specific drug formularies.
